NARNIA – premiére!

Etter fleire vekers intensiv innspurt, er Narnia klar. Her er bilete fra generalprøven:

Når eg no har levert bilete til Viking Poseidon, er det rett tilbake til Narnias fantastiske eventyrverden. I kveld har eg gjort ferdig den første kruna til dei fire kongelege barna. Med perler fra India og silkefløyel fra Kina, syns eg den er litt eksotisk! Her ser du eit utsnitt:

Now that I have delivered art for Viking Poseidon, it´s straight back to the the wonderful farytale of Narnia. Tonight I finished the first of the four royal crowns. Pearls from India, and silk-velvet from China, I think it´s rather exotic! Above you can see part of it.

Dei siste vekene har eg jobba i Haugesund på teateret der med Narnia. Etter å ha tekna masse i sommar, var tida komen til å produsera kostymene til hovedrollene. (Stine, med hjelp av Tanja og Lone, er alt godt i gong med kostymer til ensemble.) Under er det eit bilete av den Kvite Heksa, spela av Elsa Aanesen. Bilete er tatt bakfra, og viser litt av kostymet: fleire lag skjørt, det øverste skal kunne brukast som slede(!), frostrose-armar og isbre-korsett.

The past weeks I´ve been busy in Haugesund at the theatre, working with Narnia. I drew most of the scetches this summer, and now it was time to start the production of the main-characters costumes. (Stine, along with Tanja and Lone, are well into the ensembles costumes). Below is a picture of the White witch, played by Elsa Aanesen. The picture is taken from behind, and shows part of the costume: several layers of skirts, one of which can be used as a sled(!), frostroses on her arms, and a glacier-corset.

Denne veka er eg i Haugesund og jobbar med Narnia. Endeleg er eg i gong med syinga. Stine Salvesen og Lone Jørstad hjelper til med produksjonen, seinare kjem Tanja Huglen og. Og hjelp trengs. Her er mykje pels som gjerast om til ulvar, hyene-orkar, kaniner, mus, rev, og kanskje til og med eit pinnsvin. Og sjølvsagt løva og heksa.

Premieren er 5. desember, og det blir forestillingar fram til nyttår.

Elsa Aanesen spelar heksa, Brynjar Stautland løva Aslan, Nina Sele og Bjørn Andre Widvey er Fru Bever og Herr Bever, Knut Gjelle Angell er faunen Mr. Tumnus.

This week I am finally in Haugesund working on the production of the Narnia-costumes. We are only three people sowing, and have a lot of unsown fake fur waiting to become mice, rabbits, wolves, foxes and even a porqupine. And ofcourse the lion and the witch!

opening night is December 5th, shows run till New-years.

Kenneth Sivertsen sitt betillingsverk til 1000-års jubileet for kristninga av Norge i 1995, vart bannlyst frå feiringa pga kostymene! Det var Carte Blanche som dansa til musikken, og Jo Strømgren var ein av dansarane som hadde ein stor, erigert, grøn penis. Forestillinga vart likevel satt opp i Grieghallen nokre veker seinare.

I mars 2008 vart Brytningstid satt opp igjen, denne gongen i bømlo kulturhus, og med Bømlo Musikallaug stod som produsent. Hilde Hoff Andersen tok initiativ og var koreograf. Ho fekk med seg Nina Meldahl Olsen på regi, og saman med dansarane og aktørane jobba dei i ei sjeldan kreativ ideveksling. Det var kjempespennande å jobbe kostymer til denne forestillinga. Å tolke stemningar ut fra musikken, finne fargar i rytmane, istadenfor i eit skrive manuskript.

Kenneth Sivertsens composition requested for the 1000th aniversary of Norways christianity in 1995, was banned from the celebration because of the provocative costumes. The dance-company Carte Blanche, with dancer Jo Strømgren, wore a huge, erigated, green penis. The show was staged some weeks later in Grieghallen in Bergen.

In march 2008 “Brytningstid” was staged again, this time in Bømlo Culture-house, and with Bømlo Musikallaug as producer. Hilde Hoff Andersen took the initiative, and was the coreographer. she had Nina Meldahl Olsen join in the project as director, and together with the dancers, they through a rare, creative process, the show took form. It was such a thrill to work with the costumes on this show. Finding moods in the music, colors in the rythms, instead of a written manuscript.
